I always go to the spit during migration hopeful to see some incredible birds. Somehow I always end up going on slower days. After a good 5 hour hike through the park, when I was feeling quite exhausted, he was an absolute treat to see on the way out. This male Scarlet Tanager hung around the same tree foraging through the thousands of midges for quite some time, giving me some incredible looks.
